Am about to order an ECO in 9mm and am hoping for some more feedback besides my ultra biased friends on another forum. :)

I haven't been able to hold a 9mm version in my hand, but have looked at the 45 version as well as a few other DW models.

I am impressed with the quality, but curious if anyone with a 9mm can chime in on reliability/accuracy and such.

It's my favorite CCO type 1911.

I recommend the .45 version for reliability. Some 9mm ammo is weak and won't cycle in some of the little 1911's. But defensive +p ammo seems to work fine in the ECO I tested.

Accuracy is insane. Build quality is approaching the Valor. The thumb safety benefits from some dremel action and a tear drop shape. I felt the thumb safety was digging into my hand before I cut it. I use a really aggressive high tang grip. The Ed Brown grip safety allows a very high grip, but it's not as comfy as a regular grip safety. But it shoots way better. The 25lpi checkering will be painful for white collar hands, but it'll stick to them like velcro.

Oh and heavy lube. Rails, barrel, bushing, everything. Nothing as thin or thinner than Fp10. I use [ATF/STP/Mobile1/grease] mixed evenly.

I think it's $1500 around here. The CCO is $1350.
