Any experience with Leupold 2.5X M8 on AR platform?

Anyone have good or bad experience with Leupold 2.5X M8 on an AR platform?

I have a Leupold 4X M8 post reticle on a Bushmaster XM15-E2S. It is hard for me to hold zero from a standing position and very hard to focus on near targets. I was thinking of dropping down to the 2.5X M8.

Any thoughts?

I just mounted an older Weaver K 2.5 post (who's quality I would place right up there with new Leupolds) on an M1 Carbine sporter. At 100 yards smacking a hanging 1/5 scale steel IPSC target is a breeze and running and gunning close up targets is fast and simple. I see no reason the same style scope wouldn't work as well on an AR platform.
