Hi All-

H322 was sub MOA with Hornady 55gr BTHP W/C, but today the 75gr hornady Match BTHP didn't group as well during the initial ladder test of .3 grain increments. I will node test a few, but I am wondering if this may not a great powder for 75gr? Please share your experiences.

Thanks

I got good accuracy with 75gr Hornady bthp and a little less than 21gr of H322. Then I bought a chronograph and realized they were leaving the barrel at 2400 fps. I didn't restock after that.

Not exactly sure what you're trying to say, but sounds like it might be good. Can you clarify please?

I think he is trying to say H-322 was decently accurate with 75 gr Hornady BTHP’s, but that he wanted more in the velocity department, and probably switched to a slower powder like TAC, Varget, Accurate 2520 or others. Correct me, if I am wrong NWcityguy2.

I use the following:
80 grain SMK over 21.5 grains of H322- Thompson Center Compass 22" Barrel 223/5.56 in an Oryx Chassis
CCI 400 SRP
COAL 2.46" as it's loaded through a Area 419 AICS magazine
Average: 2679.36 fps
ES: 11.91 fps
SD: 4.85
.510 Average of 5 groups of 5 (5 @ 5 shot groups)

Your accuracy problems might be due to barrel twist or even your particular barrel bullet combo. Sometimes a combo that is lights out in the rifle with a serial number before yours and you can't get but a shotgun pattern with it. I see this in .22 rifles a lot. Sometimes things are just wonky. I would try a different bullet and see what that does before spending lots of time on the present one.
