Hey all,

I am wanting to pick up a pocket 9mm for summer carry and I happened upon the excellent guide by Bobo. In it he shows a pocket 9mm auto that I hadn't heard of before, the SCCY Industries CPX-1. So I had to check out their page. You can check it too....http://www.sccyindustries.com/2009/index.html

Their 9mm auto looks like a nice little pistol for summer carry. Certainly as nice as the Kel-Tecs and so on. The only thing is that I have never seen a range report or any owner comments about them. I would like to know more about them though. They are available for purchase as you can see on GunBroker if you want to check them out.

Does anyone out there own one or has owned one and wouldn't care to post your thoughts? Have you heard anything about them or had any experience with them at all that you can share?

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks for the time.

They have been around for a while, now. Consensus is that they are a very poor quality Kel-tec P11 knock-off. Buy the real thing- get a P11.

I had one when they first came out, serial number was in the low 200s, and it shot great up until about round 300 when the takedown pin broke and the slide almost flew off. I called the company and they overnight shipped a new one to me. Their customer service was great, but as for the pistol, I never put enough rounds through it to trust my life to it.

There's inexpensive and there's cheap .. the CPX-1 is cheap. Like arjppj I had an early-ish one and was pleased to get rid of it. Maybe the later ones are better but I still wouldn't buy one.
