I have a Smith 39-2, and was wondering if the 147 gr. ammo in standard pressure would be wise to use in it. I believe the 39-2 came out before the intro of 147 gr rounds, so I wanted to check. I don't know if there's any pressure differences or such that would effect the older pistol.

Thanks for any help.

Greeting's Sir-

I don't think you would have a problem shoot'in the 147 grain standard pressure rounds from your newly acquired Smith & Wesson 39-2. You
are right in saying that the 147 grainers weren't around when the 39-2
was in its prime. I resorted to different types to JHP's, including those
from the old Super-Vel cartridge company. Back then, that was some
pretty hot stuff~ :D
