If you're in central NC and are looking for some matches to shoot let me know. We have four USPSA and one steel match each month in this area and are always looking for new shooters.

OK, roughly it's from Wilkesboro east to Raleigh and from the VA line to Charlotte. We have matches in Creedmore, Carthage, Salisbury, Statesville, and Lexington.

A steel match is held at Piedmont Handgun Association south of Lexington the 4th Sunday of each month. There is a USPSA match at the Rowan Cty. Wildlife Association range in Salisbury the 2nd Saturday of each month. I can e-mail you contact info if you'd like?

You guys have a shooting match in Carthage?? hmm..to think you guys are having a match in the birthplace (and future historic site) of THE best looking and most talented holster maker in the known world(that lives in Staley )...

Where is the one in Lexington?? How hard is it to find coming from Ahseboro?

Krag:

It is that proverbial "small world". When I was in Rock Hill, SC some years back, I used to shoot IPSC at Charlotte Rifle and Pistol Club, as well as Statesville. It was an FOP range, as I recall. We also used to shoot at Mid-Carolina Club, near Columbia, and as memory serves, and there was a match over in or near Virginia, Blackburn, Blackford or something like that. It was near an engineeringf school, I think.

Sounds as if you have found an interesting way to earn a living. Could you reference any particular articles?

Do you guys have matches year-round?

I'm currently overseas but I'll be living back in good 'ol Jacksonville around the June timeframe and I'm willing to drive a few hours for a good shoot.

Catuela - yep, we sure do as long as it's not raining or snowing. In the eastern part of the state there are USPSA matches in Havelock (I believe?), Southport and a new club on Ft. Bragg.

Sir Walter Match is absolutely great, I go there when I can, I like it because after not shooting for a year I know I can just get in my car and go (3 hours one way),
no phone calls, and no matter what the weather I will show up to find a great match with a full parking lot. I have to try the other NC clubs when I can.

If you are out east I have to plug my home club that I haven't been too in months, Blackwater Practical Shooters, come check them out, very convenient from E-City and VaBch.
