I know that technically, there is a little bit of difference.
The '54R is generally around .310-.311 and the 7.62Nato\30'06 surplus bullets I see around are .308.
Has anyone tried using .308 bullets with the 7.62x54?
How well does it work.
Also, is there a source for 7.62x54 Brass and other components out there?

I could have sworn that I saw a post (in this forum) asking a very similar question recently. You might try a search and see what it yields.

I can't imagine that it would produce very good accuracy, but you never know unless you try, I guess. I'm not sure if Norma still has brass, but if they do, it's mighty $$$$$$$.

Good luck,

Stinger

I believe the 91/30s and M44s of the communist world have .311" grooves, but the Finnish M38 is .308".

I have not shot my M39 yet, but I have been shooting a 91/30 with .311" Sierra 180 gr, and it works well.
