SAO Carry model? I saw a two tone on consignmet for $700 in excellent condition, and I'm interested. I would like to hear about its reliability, and the trigger. Does this model normally come with a descent single action trigger? When I say descent, I do realize this is a carry pistol and not a range gun.

Thanks,

From my experience, if it says Sig on it, it's reliable.

My 226 had a really nice SA trigger after to take up the floppy slack which should be instinctual and immediate anyway, especially after you fire that first DA shot.

I could only assume that their SAO models have even better triggers. Why not ask the guy at the counter if you can try the trigger out? If he's the type that demands you use snap caps, it would be reasonable of him to have some which you could use.

I wouldn't worry about the trigger, but I would be concerned about the extractor. Sig had problems with the P220 and the internal extractor. Many Sig owners reported FTEs and Sig recently did away with the internal extractor in favor of an external version as found on their other P Series pistols.

I don't have any experience with the SAO model you are looking at, but I can tell you that the single action trigger on my P220 is nice and crisp, and even the double action trigger is nice and smooth. I think you'd have a hard time going wrong with it.

You can never go wrong with a Sig 220. If you want the trigger a little lighter, Sig offers a trigger Action Enhancement Package if you send the gun back to them. I sent my 220 Combat baack to them to have it done and I was very satified. Drops the SA to about 4 lbs. But even out of the box you should be happy.

So, its a good handgun, but be aware of the internal extractor. How about the $700?
