Anyone else own a nice condition iver johnson model 1? Hammerless...
I have found some disassembly videos and I have taken it apart before but not fully.
Right now I want to clean under the... uh. Hammer guard? Hammer cover? Whatever you call the price of metal covering the hammer to make it hammerless.
I also want to get into the trigger mechanism. To clean there too.
I'm really nervous about using the tool to punch the pins out I feel as though I will mess it up but I know I need to get in there to clean it.
The dissasssmbly videos I have found are complete disassembly, and they dont really get to the hammer until the end. I've removed the barrel before, the grips and even the screw in the frame for the hammer. Cleaned it all up with ballistol. Made it better than ever.
I'm wondering, i know I will have to remove the pins to get in there. But can I do just that without disassembly of everything else? I'm hoping another owner here has cleaned under the hammerless cover and has knowledge to share.
