Hey y'all,
Anyone who's seen me knocking around here knows I generally just have really off-the-wall specific questions or obscure interests (hence the thread I'm starting here). I barely consider myself a collector, and truly the only things I've acquired simply for what they are in an effort to have a representative set are Rem 760's.

Originally I went for the model for the reliability & accuracy combo (and, hey, their obscurity as desirable rifles makes 'em cheap and the sound of pump closing on a brass case just can't be equalled). I happened to get one that was a first-year run, and I've been trying to get similar examples in each of the calibers offered ever since. It was no small inducement that the 308 I got secondly went from lemon to gem with a simple decoppering, but I digress...

So my question is, any other 760-heads out there besides me?
Let's see 'em!

I no longer own one, but have killed several deer with a 760, and admire them for several reasons. Some of the cooler calibers I have seen are .257 Roberts, .222, .223, and .35 Rem. Even .243 brings a premium over the other calibers. Except for the mags, I really like them.

I've actually found aftermarket mags (TripleK) for them that are fantastic, it's the magazine CATCH that I loathe...

Anyway, I even have a first-year run model in .300Savage! :0
