Robar has a special this month which is 20% off their full refinishing services. I have a CZ P-01 which I absolutely love, but I don't like the polycoat finish. So, I am wanting something that is more durable and is VERY rust resistant. Robar NP3 caught my attention and I wanted to know if anyone here has gotten this finish and what they think of it.

Also, has anyone gotten a CZ with a decocker NP3ed? Last time I thought about getting NP3 was a year ago and Robar said they didn't have a CZ armorer, but had skilled gunsmiths that could handle the CZ. Of course, they didn't mention if they had a guy that was knowledgable about the decocker CZs. Never liked the idea of someone detail stripping my firearms if they weren't certified......

Robar NP3

I had three revolvers done, been a couple years now, I guess. Not cheap, but worth it in my opinion. Had the wife's nightstand S&W 15-3 done complete, along with some smithing (barrel cylinder gap, excess rotational play) it needed. Also my 2 1/4" Sp101 .357, NP3 complete, hammer bobbed, corners rounded. Taurus 85 Titanium internals only. Triggers on all three smoothed WAY out, the Ruger was raspy before, smooth now. K frame is really sweet. Great finish, I highly recommend it. The folks at Robar are great to work with, super easy to get along with. Never had an auto done, but I wouldn't worry at all about sending anything to them. I'd bet that you'll be happy with the results if you give them a chance.

 I've had work done by Robar, I would trust them with any weapon I own, you're not talking about a fly-by-night or newbe outfit. They have been around for a few years, and a CZ with de cocker, is just another handgun, theres nothing special about the de-cocker.:)

another satisfied customer

They did up my SA 1911 for me that I had built up over the years, and I am pleased with it. It did take about about 100 rounds or so to get it "broken in" again, but it's very, very smooth now.

Re: polishing NP3

Never tried; it comes out pretty shiny anyway; it just appears a pewter gray.
It mirrors the polish on the surface underneath; perhaps a strategy of having the flats polished first? There is a NP3 Custom Commander over on gunbroker right now if you'd like to look at it. The better the finish in the metal the nicer NP3 looks on the gun (My Colts look much better than a couple of Para kit frames I've had done, a stainless slide had been previously polished out and I actually NP3'd it to tone it down; still very shiny.
I really like NP3, found it tough and the folks at Robar are on the short list of people allowed to work on my stuff at all. I think you won't be disappointed. Cheers, TF
