finishes: anyone put roguard over a parkerized pistol?

hey,

i've got a parkerized springfield armory. it scratches too easily in my opinion.

thinking about getting the externals refinished with robar's roguard and the internals done with robar's np3.

does this sound like a decent plan?

here's the pistol we're talking about, springfield armory PX9109L.

does anyone know how roguard compares to parkerization as far as scratch resistance goes?

anyone here ever do roguard over parkerized? do they have to bead blast or otherwise strip parkerization off first or is roguard applied directly over parkerization.

there msut be other questions concering this process i'm not bright enough to formulate.

please feel free to tell me what i need to know about this process. i will greatly appreciate your time and effort.

thanks,

mike

hey,

i read somewhere we have almost 12,000 members here.

has no one ever refinished a pistol by putting roguard (by robar) over a perkerized pistol?

oh, i would bet someone here has and they will see this post eventually.

Roguard is a good finish, from my understanding. So is NP3.

For holster carry, I would recommend Hard chroming. The general consensus is that Tripp Research is the best, and his prices are less than the RoGuard. It is stronger stuff.

But, the NP3 and Roguard is pretty good too.

U will probably have to pay them a fee to remove the existing finish before they can piit the new finish on the gun, though...
