Any real difference between a 22LR hollow point and 22LR solid round?

I have only anecdotal evidence, but from my admittedly limited experience the HP rounds seem more effective against small game, i.e. squirrels. Soilds seem to do better against bigger objects, such as an attacking dog. The other factor is reliability, as some firearms do not like HP rounds, but this sounds like a moot point with your Mosquito.

You probably won't see much if any expansion from .22 hps in a pistol. At least that's been my experience. I'd go with the solids and save a buck, especially if it was just for target practice anyway.

I am more than comfortable with giving my wife a Beretta 950 .22 short to carry for self defense when I'm not with her.

Why? Because more than likely anyone attacking her either wants her purse or her womanhood. A purse can be repurchased and I don't know any guy still able to get it up with 5 or 6 .22's embedded in their chest or forbid a little lower.

I however am a 6'2 280lb guy.... someone attacking me probably has far deadlier intetions, I carry a Beretta PX4 Storm .45ACP.

Ohh and when I get back to my PC I'll post some pictures of how well Remington 22LR expands when shot thru a powerade bottle full of sand

Please tell me you are kidding about giving your wife .22 short!

Expansion in sand does not equal expansion in living tissue.
