What is your opinion of this gun? Anyone who has had experience with one...Post a picture if you feel like. Thanks.

I own a 223 tactical and really like it. Groups hold around 1/2 with 69 BTHP's and 70 bergers vlds, 3/4" with 75 and 77 grain BTHP's, all 5 shot groups.

It is a nice handy rifle and when it is time to rebarrel I will put a 20" or 21" barrel back on it.

I have an sps, not tactical... 26" heavy barrel, shoots nice, 308, shoots as good as Niles. The new triggers are supper simple to adjust, I moved mine down to 2 1/2#, and the stock has plenty of space around the barrel. The tolerances are so tight the brass looks as good coming out as it does going in.

For the price it's a great rifle. You'll be sure to hit what you aim at, unless you flinch.

I love mine, but it fell off of the table yesterday, and knocked my scope out of zero. It is heavy! I bought it because I wanted to develop my marksmanship and maybe hunt with it, but it is heavy. I bought it in the start of winter, and have only fired it about 4x's.

No but I've shot a a number of them and they deliver what most people are looking for in the factory "out of the box" category without spending too much money. That will come later if you want some upgrades.

I started with a Savage model 10 and am very very happy because when the time comes I can do most of my own work to upgrade it.

I currently have one in .308, but I have put a few of them together in the past. Good action (some can be a bit clunky, so feel it before buying) and barrel for the money, however, the stock is lacking, IMO. Even with the reinforced skeleton, there is still a lot of give in the forend. A B&C or Mcmillan is in order to wring the accuracy out of it, at which point you are approaching an off-the-rack PBR in terms of money.

The good thing about those Hogue 'SPS Tac' stocks, though, is that they will sell on Ebay, so some cost can be recovered.

I've had one for about a year. No modifications. Probably just at the point where it's getting broken in.

I put a Bushnell 3200 10 mil-dot held in by Burris X-Treme tactical rings. It's a good looking rifle. The 20" bbl shoots about 200fps slower than published velocity.

Mine seems to like Hornady 168's and RL-15. Factory Remington match ammunition shoots about 3/4" groups and my reloads are around .6" at 100yds

I've also had good luck with Hornady 110gr. V-Max bullets over H335. Just a smidge over 3000fps and ~1/2" groups.

I'm still working on a 155 AMAX load.

It is a bit nose-heavy but that seems to ease the recoil
