Wait, what? :scrutiny:

:D Someone PLEASE photoshop a Kimber crossed with an XD. Please.

Oh and Gym, we're not ragging on you, just entertained with the thought.

My friend has the 9sc... I've put 300 rounds through it myself, as well as 1000 rounds through my 45compact...

no complaints whatsoever.

don't disgrace the xd line and sa by putting kimber and sa xd in the same sentance.

i have a .40 xd sc and i love it. i bought it after i had my service model for a while, and i love it too. the sc has over 2k rds through it without a hitch, all kinds of ammo, fmj, jhp's, lead, reloads. i have ran it hard and it keeps on going and going. i thought the recoil was gonna be bad from a little 3" barrel but it isn't and i really can't tell a difference between the 4" and the 3" model. the trigger gets better with time, and the gun fills good in my hand. with the 9rd mag i had to use a pearce grip extenstion and it is great. the sc is a great concealable carry gun that i carry everyday!

I'm very fond of my sub-compact in 40 s&w but I do find it a little bit "chunky". I use it as a cold weather carry only due to it having a more noticable "print" than my little airweight. It is utterly reliable and with the addition of some night sights a very nice pistol.

As noted in another thread the trigger is a bit "mushy" until it breaks in at the 500 to 1k mark. I've also found the sub to be a bit less forgiving in the cleaning department. Never had a ftf or even any issue, it just seems to drag a bit after 200+ rounds without cleaning. Yes, I know.... but I had to see how it worked that filthy!

Spend some time on the XD forum. A great group:

I have several thousand rounds through my XD40SC and the only problem I ever had was feeding out of one mag I dropped and bent the feed lips on. I bent the lips back to "factory" and it never missed a lick.

However, I have it on consignment as I prefer my 1911s and M&P FS 9mm to the XD.

Yep, what they said...

Started my xd thing with an xd40 4" .... but then they came out with the xd45. Loved that one but too much for me to conceal so I sold it and bought my xd40sc. This one fits "just right" especially with the pearce grip extension ($7) mentioned above. Shoots great. I bought a 9mm conversion barrel for it and it shoots great that way too.

But now there's that xd45 compact out there and I'm thinking again......

forgot to mention that i added a set of xs night sights and it took a great ccw weapon to greatness.

i bought an iwb holster and that seems to have taken care of the bulge. they are a little thick, but the fact that it is an xd and that it is capable of 12 +1 capacity, gotta give a little you know, and i am happy to sacrifice a little bulge for the xd sc.

my iwb works great and conceals well and is comfortable. heres a pic.

Xd9sc

I've had my XD9SC for a couple years. When I carry, that's generally what I have with me. I carry with the 10 round mag so it isn't so big. When I first began using it, I couldn't hit much of anythng. Either the gun or I got better after a few hundred rounds. The 3" barrel doesn't seem to be a handicap on accuracy. Also it has never failed to load, shoot or extract and it has good ergonomics for me.

possum - who made that holster? Looks like a Grandfather Oak I had made for a Keltech PT-11.

yep it sure is a grandfather oak, good eye. i love mine, carry it everyday in that holster while i am in the states of course.

how do you like yours?

I love it... oddly it was a mistake. What I asked for was a small of the back (which is just an IWB really) with a palm-out draw - which is opposite of what yours would be if you just slid it back there - in the tuckable version so I could tuck my shirt in if I wanted to.

The add layer is so thin that it adds practically nothing to the width if you do or don't... totally usable.

Well it came just like yours with a palm-in draw. I know, I know... palm in is the 'correct' way, but I have found I am much more sure and quick doing it my way. So I had to call and order another - done correctly - and added one for 1911. I also kept the one I had and have now gotten used to using it just like you.

Great products.

yeah i agree, i kinda stubled upon the guy that makes em at a gun show in n.c. i was at the gun show and i was about to deploy in a few weeks, and i saw his booth, got to talking to him and next thing i knew i had a new holster. i just couldn't decide if i wanted one for my xd service or the sc, but the sc is what i carry most so i went with that.
