any tips on clearing a ruger 9mm jam?

i have a p89 dc 9mm from the early 90's. i have shot tens of thousands of rounds through it. very few jams over the years but when it does jam, my god its bad. locked up real bad.

Explain the jam. What is happening when it jams? Loaded round stuck, fires no extraction etc. Need to know these things to help you.

the round gets jammed up in the chamber. almost straight up in there.

I am still confused as to the nature of the jam. Are you saying that the gun is chambering a round, but the round is getting stuck in the chamber once it has been chambered?
