I am not an FFL dealer, but I intend to sell my pistol privately. Though it is legal here in Texas to sell a pistol face to face to another Texas resident, I'd prefer to know that I'm not selling it to a criminal. Does anybody know of any way I might be able to verify that the potential buyer is good to own a pistol? I was wondering if I might be able to get an FFL dealer to do the transfer for a fee. (though I own the gun, and it's me who is the person selling it, and not the FFL dealer.)
Please guys.....no harsh name calling that I'm anti 2nd amendment. I just don't want to get contacted by the police a month later that I sold my pistol to a known criminal that used the gun in a crime. That would make me feel awful.
