Any way to carry in Canada?

is thare anyway to carry one or some kind of loophole.

Careful of "loopholes". They may keep you out of prison, but they can't be guaranteed of keeping you out of jail or the courtroom.

No. There is no way for an ordinary person to legally CCW in Canada. There is a permit called ATC-3 (Authorization to Carry Type 3) which is almost impossible to get. Ontario, with a population of 13 million, has issued 13 ATC-3s.
The holders are secret, but a good guess would be some criminal court judges and Crown (prosecuting) attorneys, and probably some HA's who flipped.

In fact, don't even try to cross into Canada with a handgun. You'll never get over the confiscation, jail time, and heavy fine.

Of course, if you are a gang member who likes shooting people in the streets of Vancouver, Calgary or Toronto, all of the above does not apply. Still, though, don't try crossing the border with a handgun.

Yes. Write your representatives in Parliament. Next, have them continuously vote "no confidence," and begin electing pro-gun people to parliament. After that, replace your entire Supreme Court with pro-gun justices, because (if I have this correct) all Supreme Court decisions must be unanimous in Canada for anything to pass. Following that, begin lobbying for "shall-issue" ATC-3 licenses.

If, and only if, you are actively employed in trapping, prospecting and a few other jobs in the bush, you can get a Wilderness Carry Permit(that's not the exact name of it though). It only allows carrying a handgun when working, not all the time.
Otherwise, forget CCW in Canada. Despite what the law actually says, 'policy' is not to issue carry permits. There's nothing new about it either.

Right. No gun violence in Canada, unless you are a druggie, or a member of a certain minority sub-culture from a certain Caribbean city named Kingston.

These guys fire away with minimal jail sentences. However, if you are law abiding, try getting through the licencing system just to take a handgun to a range.

Apparently, illegal, non-registered handguns come into the country easily. Some aboriginal reserves straddle the international border. And, do Canadians ever notice that their imported broccoli tastes a bit like gun oil?:D

The brilliant liberal answer to all of this? The Ontario and Toronto government's official position? Confiscate legal handguns from the law abiding.

This is why we advise Americans to avoid Toronto for holidays and conventions--and to let the Toronto government know why you're doing it.

Police can no more carry to the mall than anyone else. What is the likelihood of an officer on duty being mugged? Slim. Put that same lady in ordinary clothes on her day off and she's 100X more likely to be vicimized.

Here's the form, someone managed to wrangle. Believe it or not the bureaucracy is set up to deny applicants any knowledge of the process. If people make small bureaucratic errors it's easier to deny them. In that sense this form is quite valuable. 5 men lost their lives getting it out...

As you can see the gov't requires people to be lucky or resiliant, as you must experience multiple life-threatening situations before they'd consider approval. Perhaps callous, but imagine how many people are dead today because they could only check off a couple of the boxes.

Jeez, I could have easily filled that form out in High school, you need 4 incidents, hmm, twice I had a handgun shoved in my face and twice I was threatened with a knife...

Of course, these things were dealt with without LEO intervention...

+1

Of course, if you live in a remote area the chances of running into RCMP or any law enforcement is pretty minimal. They be stretched pretty thin these days.

Go live in Northern BC and you will see a big difference from the Fraser Valley.

I'm Canadian and I carry a gun on a daily basis. Oh wait I live in Colorado. I suggest you move to the U.S. once you get here they let you in on the secret plot to invade and take over Canada, then you will be Canadian/Americans who will be allowed to carry guns.....opps I've said to much already.

In Canada the only way to legally carry handguns in additon to the above mentioned ways is to work as a guard transporting valuables in a armoured car company. In that case, you are licensed to carry, openly but only when you are on duty.

Is there anywhere we can download these forms, fill them out, and mail them to a local Sheriff's office in Canada? Is there a restriction on foreigners applying for permits (aside from the fact that the won't get one)?

"...or a member of..." Or a certain former British colony. Or a certain very large Asian country.
"...Sheriff's office in Canada..." You need to learn something about the assorted government officials in your country. Canadian Sheriffs aren't involved in anything to do with firearm law enforcement. They're court officers, not cops.
"...running into RCMP or any law enforcement is pretty minimal..." Game wardens and CO's come out of nowhere at any time, anywhere. Have a handgun without the proper permit and you're toast.
SpecialKalltheway, you seem to be confused about who is going to take over who. Quit drinking the local beer. It's messing with your priorities. Get on with your assignment.

What I'm asking Sunray, is can we do an exercise in International Civil Disobedience? You know, we send in the ATC-3 forms knowing that we will get denied but we send in so many that we make CBC news or something like that and spark a debate about CCW in Canada.
