I'm considering a 9mm. I really thoght about the Browning Hi-Power...but I favor DA and I like the improvements CZ has made since the 1935 final masterpiece. I like the all steel concept...no more plastic or lighter metal conglomerations for me. I also like the longer barrel which will give the 9mm a better chance to expand than the shorter barrels. I'm presently carrying a GP100 revolver so I'm not all that particular about weight. I actually prefer the idea of the larger, heavier pistol.

So...who carries the full size CZ75. Requesting feedback on your experience and type holster.

I do. I carry mine owb in a ross gunleather 3-slot. works good in the vertical position, tends to peek out under my shirt if I wear it canted forward. I've also carried it iwb in a streched out 1911 holster from Bianchi. Hope this helps.

I do on occasion. The gun is actually pretty thin, better than the XD I had in that regard. It's just heavy is all, and I had bad reliability issues with it for a while. Still trying to work the bugs out.

I've carried my 75B, but then bought the lighter, compact 75D PCR and now carry that. Its just as accurate and carries easier for me. I don't think the small difference in barrel length matters that much.

What ammunition and how many rounds through it so far?

When I bought my first handgun, a Series 70 Colt, nearly thirty years ago it was unreliable with ball, but shot the "flying ashtrays" with 100% reliability! After several boxes of ammunition, it was 100% with factory 230gr. ball.

Same with me. Between the PCR & the CZ40B, I just don't carry my full-size CZ75B much anymore.

CZ75B In .40 S&W

I am about to sound like a THR heritic but,I carry a 75B IWB in one of those cheap (16.00$) cordura nylon holsters by Gunmate™ ( DW is NOT gonna let me pay 70+ for a Galco) & 90% of the time neither I, nor anyone else knows it's there. The compact models just don't feel right in my hand.

I've done it. I used a CompTac paddle holster under a light outer cover garment. That worked well, excepting the fact that the holster didn't have a safety shield and I had to carry it DA/SA instead of Condition One.

It is heavy. A good belt is a must.

When I carry my 75B, it's usually not concealed unless I'm wearing a jacket. While I wouldn't say it's "too big" for CC, I have other guns better suited for it and would rather just OC the CZ.

Thank you all for your replys...um, that SS version of the CZ75 does look awesome! I've finally come to the conclusion that I want an all steel full size weapon. No smaller, lighter, miniscule barrel, etc., for me at this point in life. I want a full size barrel...too many sacrifice a small barrel weapon that will not produce the velocity needed for a bullet to mushroom...nor will the muzzle flip on the light weapon proffer the needed follow up shots to actually stop a 300 lb aggressor hopped up on drugs. Hell...with all the gear I carried in the military (the Kevlar Helmet alone weighs 11 lbs) I imagine I can muster up the discipline/physical stamina needed to carry a full size pistol on a belt. If I go with OWB, I'll get one of Belt Man's reinforced belts with the stiffener.

Usually just range stuff...WWB or Blaser. Probably...jeez, 2500 rounds? I don't remember, it's been about 4 years now. I haven't had a FTE issue after hosing it down with Powder Blast, but time will tell.

I went that route for awhile. I, too, have the P3AT...the 3 inch snubby...the pocket .45 ACP, etc. I'm beginning to realize now, wisdom is truly slow in coming, that one needs the longer barrel to produce the velocity needed to produce consistent hollow point expansion...if at all. Larger frames soak up recoil and reduce muzzle flip allowing string follow up shots. That ol' maxim of bigger is better...seems true to me.

I carried a full size Witness 40 OWB for years. Excellent CZ clone. The number one thing to carrying a full size steel framed pistol is a GREAT belt and holster. Both must be good strong heavy duty items, no dress belt and cheap nylon, or you will regret it, quickly!

I've done it (full size CZ 75B 9mm), but only in wintertime under an overcoat. Cocked and locked in a Bianchi thumbsnap OWB holster with a good belt. I felt well armed.

I find the compact CZ P-01 easier to carry. It's lighter and smaller but still shoots like a full sized gun. Galco OWB Concealment holster; rides nice and tight under a sweater and/or jacket. The P-01 has extended the period I can carry a "full blown gun" from late fall through early spring.

Come warm weather, though, I just drop a snubby .38+P with good ammo in a pants pocket holster, add a reload on a speed strip in the back pocket, and call it adequate.

Well, as much as I love my CZ 75B, it's just not a great everyday carry pistol.

I have found that the best way to carry mine, and it still be easily accessable, is in an open top slide style holster under a light coat or jacket.

When I do carry mine I use this DeSantis holster....I modified it some: it was a thumb-break holster for a Beretta 92, but with a snip here and snip there, it fits just fine.....

I used to carry my CZ75B in a Uncle Mike's IWB holster but haven't done that for a long time. It was fine when I was up and moving but a little uncomfortable when I sat down. Now I either carry a Glock 26 or 36 OWB or pocket carry a 642.

I'm carrying my CZ75B right now in a DeSantis thumbsnap holster. I also use a Bladetech holster for IDPA, and use a High Noon IWB holster depending on what I'm wearing. I usually wear a Carhartt vest and it conceals nicely. A stiff gun belt is mandatory though.

I also own a CZ75 P01, and I carry that in the same two leather holsters, but in the spring summer under a t-shirt. You can carry a CZ75b, but there are lighter choices within the CZ line. Good luck in your search.

regards,

Luis Leon

P.S. Once you buy that first CZ, you will probably buy another, so at some point you'll have the happy choice of what to carry.

I've carried my SP-01 Tact small of back and in a "man purse" I sometimes carry. It was heavy, and SOB was not particularly comfortable, but its definitely possible. Really, its not much worse to carry than a 1911, the biggest problem I had was keeping the end of the grip from causing it to print.
