I'm looking for an inexpensive teaching aid, and a local shop has a QFI for $130. (.22lr, single action)

So far all I can find from Google is that it's an out of business company from Florida.

Does anyone know about this brand? Anyone have a bluebook who's up for educating me?

From another forum I found:
"According to the Blue Book, QFI was an American manufacturer located in Opa Locka, Florida. They were only around for a little over two years - 1990-1992."

My Modern Gun Values book (13th Ed.) says that the .22's run from about $50-$110 depending on model and barrel length. That's VGood to Perf condition.

That's about all I could find too. :-(

I guess I'll have to get over to the shop and look at it. They had one other at the same price. I wish I could recall what it's markings were.

I've been trying to avoid it, but that $170 Heritage Rough Rider (new) is looking better and better.

I dunno man, after tax you're getting awfully close to what a worn-but-solid Ruger Single Six costs.

I've seen a couple Ruger Sixes as low as $175 in Austin (great shape, shoulda grabbed it), and recently bought a 90% one for $195 at a show.

A Ruger blows the Heritage out of the water, might be worth holding out for.

Maybe post a WTB ad on the THR sales forums, and mention in the title of the ad that you want it to teach newbies?

Have a WTB -- don't think it has any replies yet. Think I'll go over and re-work it.

You've seen a Stainless Single Six for $195? Damn......
