The hunting forum always gets slow in the spring. Activity will start to pick up in the summer (planning hunts) then peak in the fall (going hunting) and winter (post-trip reports).

It is Easter Sunday and everyone is getting ready for a big meal and an Easter Egg Hunt.

Well, just so you don't feel lonely....

Took my 13 year old daughter out for her first turkey hunt this weekend.
On Saturday we saw one tom, but just couldn't get him to come in close enough for a shot. On Sunday, saw several hens and had a tom or two that answered our calls, but again no luck.
The owner of the farm has been seeing the toms strutting around a lot recently, but we've had a nasty cold spell that I think has put them off.
Hopefully next weekend when the regular season starts, things will be back on track, and I can call one in for her.

"Hello- is anybody out there?"

Pink Floyd, Dark Side Of The Moon what do I win? :D

Right now folks are not thinking about hunting gear they "tossed" and let stay "tossed".

Official "hunting season" is about 12 hours before Dove Season starts and folks are "hunting" for all their gear.

"Eww Gross!" reverberates all across the country when the Stanley Thermos is found...with coffee still in from the last hunt, however many months ago that was...

:)
