I've been through Hornady GMX's, Nosler E-Tips, and Barnes TSX's. Shooting them through my pre-64 in 270. Sometimes I can make two holes touch, but then the last one will be around an inch off. A couple times I shot a 3 shot group 3" (which really bothered me). I've yet to shoot one group under an inch. Nothing seems to be consistent. I used the GMX's and E-Tips in 130gr and the TSX's in 150. I have been using a gun Caldwell gun rest to assure this isn't shooter error. When I was shooting Sierra HPBTMK's I was shooting sub-moa. Anyone shooting sub-moa with full copper? Anyone else having issues with copper like this? Suggestions would also be appreciated. Thanks.

My Savage 116 in .338 Winchester is a standard, out-of-the-box factory rifle...un-tuned in other words.
It delivers the 225-grain TSX into tiny groups at 100 yards. Because of the cost of the bullets, I shoot only 3-shot groups, where normally I prefer to fire five or even ten rounds per group.
In this case it doesn't matter. The three-rounders are CONSISTENTLY under 3/4" and some are below 1/2".
This hunting-weight MAGNUM rifle shades some of my varminters for pure accuracy!

I stuck GMX bullets into my standard SST loads and they shot a little bigger than the SST groups, but still sub-MOA from a walnut-stocked .30-06 Weatherby Vanguard Sporter.
Just read in AR that GMX bullets usually work like SSTs but with about 1 to 1.5 grains less powder. I'll have to try that.
What I've seen so far seems to indicate that the GMX, perhaps with a little fiddling with the load, shoots a lot like the SST, at least at 100 yards. I can't say what they do at 500.

Yes. My Vanguard Sub-MOA 300 WSM (sporter weight) shoots TSX well under an inch (handloads). It's my Elk gun.
OTOH, I also *had* a Sub-MOA 270 WSM that wouldn't shoot them for s__t. Weird random flyer problems with a ton of different handload attempts.
Bottom line, it really comes down to what the rifle will shoot. They're all good bullets. My only recommendation would be to start fresh with a really, really good de-coppering of your barrel before trying the Barnes. Might make a difference.
