Hunting Doves alone has it's obvious drawbacks in terms of keeping birds moving to increase the odds of getting some in range.

So when hunting alone, I set up these dekes about 20-25yds away.
I've had doves come in and hover / land next to the Mojo in this setup...the strobe effect of the moving wings really catches their attention / pulls them in.

Think I done told ya how well they worked for us opening weekend. I was thoroughly amazed as I'd never tried a Mojo and thought it probably a gimmick. It's a gimmick that works! I rushed down to Academy when I got home from my trip and bought me one with a few static decoys to clip to the fence. Like a friggin' dove magnet. :D

I have had them work well and seem to do nothing. They can't hurt.

I would imagine they would be much like waterfowl. Ducks go crazy over these for maybe the first 2 weeks of the season and then they associate them with being shot at and steer clear of them.

I ONLY use my mojo dove while hunting alone (or away from anyone else) because they work very well for bringing birds in, but they always want to land next to the mojo. This has proven to be a real pain since I don't shoot low birds and there always seems to be some idiot nearby in public fields waiting for low birds to shoot.

I use them along the fence at the corner of my horse's field where the water trough is. I use both types, to bring in the birds, but I hunt alone with my retriever, so I need help drawing them in. I've kept the pot full so far using them. Because there are no one else around, I will shoot low birds coming in .

I have a robo and 4 decoys. If I am shooting a grain field with a fence. I attach the decoys to the fence or anywhere they will be visible and few feet off the ground then place the robo out in the field maybe 10-15 yards from the decoys. If shooting a pond, I attach the decoys to whatever I can find and place the robo near the water's edge. My robo is only about 2 feet off the ground. Seems to work quite well.
