I havent been to gunshows for like two years. Are SKSs rare to find now ?

I found a few at the Lake Charles gunshow last month. They aren't hard to find. They are just stupid expensive now. Guy tried to sell me a flat out NASTY yugo for 300$ and said that was a "hell of a deal". I could do nothing but turn and walk away.

There were a few way over priced ones (both yugo and norinco) at the Bemidji area gun show a few weeks ago. There was also a nice moderately priced yugo too, which I was surprised to see.

All the gun shows around here (Philly Area) are pretty much drying up. The last show I was at (end of last year) there was just a handful of them starting at $350 and the wood was junk (Rough, gouged, badly finished). 10 years ago there were cases of them everywhere starting at $150! It looks like all that's left are the bottom of the barrel ones with beat up wood but every now and then a decent one comes along.

We have a few Norincos, and at times one or two Russians.

The Russkies naturally list higher at about $450-500.

Some of these guns have bores which need cleaning (or are they corroded?).
The owners of these guns do not want a sale, when they bring a dirty gun to a show.

In general, most of the SKS brought to shows near Memphis are those which are less attractive and nobody really wanted.

I see plenty, but few under $300, unless you are a collector, IMHO an AK at $400-450 is a better deal.

I have a pretty good SKS collection, but the most I've paid was a bit under $300 for my Romanian on my C&R. Still missing an Albanian and the "holy grail" would be a deal on an East German.

I've seen a beat up Russian on the same table at the Raleigh gun show for two years now. It's labeled "Pre-Ban" and has a $985 price tag on it.
LOL
