I've been a longtime Emerson fan. Especially his handmade pieces. Anyone EDC one of his custom knives? How are they holding up for you? My current setup is 2 custom CQC-8's. They are holding up very well to daily use and abuse. This one is basically a framelock with handle scales, the lock is extremely thick. Ordered in 1997 and received last month. Any other Emerson fans here?

I know what you mean. I owned an early CQC-6 for almost 4 years and never used it at all. Traded it off later for a custom Commander that I beat the living crap out of. I tried the Viper series as well and just haven't found one that works for me as well as the CQC-8 models. The Commander would be the runner-up. I find myself wanting a CQC-6 again, but unable to find one that I'm willing to pay collector prices for.

That's the main issue.

I ordered mine in December of 1996. I received it in May of 2006, just shy of ten years.

My invoice number is four digits.

I have saved every scrap of paper. Every invoice, the boxes--both knife and UPS box--the packing peanuts, the bill of lading, every scrap.

Even Emerson collectors cannot give me a ballpark idea of price. Most fudge and guess anywhere from 1,400 to 2,000 bucks.

Even if those prices are over-inflated, carrying the knife and scatching it would lower the value considerably.
