I've been buying knives lately (after rounding out my revolver/shotgun battery), and wanted to share my experiences with my Emerson Knives. My wife, on a whim, bought me an Emerson Commander and Combat Karambit a few weeks ago, I've wanted a Commander since 2000 but didn't feel like spending the money, and I had never seen the wave in action so I wasn't that impressed. After clipping one to my pocket and snapping it out, I was hooked. Here's a picture of the commander in my hand:

I really like the blade design, it cuts extremely well, messing around with a pile of cardboard it slashed very deep and easily, burying it to the handle was difficult but possible.

The Karambit was very different, I thought it odd at first, but after sparring with an aluminum trainer that I have I am a fan. I don't carry it often, but it definately stands out in a grappling situation:

My new favorite is this Super CQC-7, I like it so much that I ordered a second CQC-7 just in case anything happens to this one:

I really like the wide, flat, grippy handle, it really resists turning or moving in the hand. The blade lines up nicely with my forearm, and it feels just big enough without being too big to carry easily. I think I found my EDC.

All of the Emersons have G10 handles, full titanium liners, liner locks, and carry tip up with a pocket clip. They're also shaving sharp and inspire lots of confidence when I can't carry a sidearm. The wave is simply amazing, you have to try it to believe it. It's like having a fixed blade in your pocket, it opens so fast and easily.

If you haven't tried an Emerson, do so!

own an Emerson HD-7, plain edge, black blade. G10/titanium handles. LOVE it. my EDC outside of work (wear the sebenza to work). the wave/remote pocket opener is awesome. feels so, so solid.

plan on getting the Super Karambit folder at some point, although i really like the new CQC-15 (commander but with a tanto point) and am thinking about that one as well...

and i sport the emerson keychain too :p
