I bought 1,000 rounds of Armscor .30 Carbine ammo from Lucky Gunner .com, and that was a mistake. I have yet to get through a full magazine full of the stuff. Some primers are so hard they won't go off no matter how many times they are hit. Other rounds are so weak that they won't cycle the action.

Took my carbine to a gunsmith to see if he could tune the hammer spring to set this stuff off reliably. After a week he just called me to say the best thing I can do is use an inertial bullet puller and break down the rounds I have left for the brass.

Has anyone else run into this with Armscor?

The head stamp on these rounds is "Top Brass 30 Carbine"

CMP Warning

Duelist 1954, I did some internet sleuthing and found little to no good things to say about this ammo. The problem appears to be poor manufacturing. Attached is a warning from CMP regarding this ammo. Good read with pictures. I would forward this to lucky gunner, and hopefully if he cares about his customers he will make this right with you and not sell this stuff anymore.

Good Luck,

The brass is good...the bullets are too...that's about all the good new I got for ya. That said, I've only tried one box...I decided not to spring for the case. ;)

If you don't handload, now is a good time to start...the .30Carbine just about requires it as ammo is fairly costly. You can pull the bullets (as your GS suggests) and reuse the brass and bullets for handloading. Don't get too cheap, and try to reuse the powder as you don't know precisely what it is (likely Win. 296/H110, but there is no easy way to tell). Save that for fertilizer (works great as it is high in nitrogen). The primers can be extracted safely while FL sizing with just a little care...obviously those need to be pitched (bury 'em in the backyard, it'll make a archaeologist's day in 1000yrs.), as they are the primary problem.
