Anyone else waiting or waited months for Polymer80 pistol kit?

In March of this year, Polymer80 was back in business of selling 80% pistol build kits, including the jig required. On March 26th, I ordered a “PF940C 80% Compact Pistol Frame Kit,” at which time my credit card was charged. At that time, their website indicated that it could be until May to receive the order.

I still have not received my order. I called them around three weeks ago and was told by their customer service that orders were just starting to be shipped and they would be doing so until around June 15.

My question is simple: has anyone else here waited since March or so for his or her 80% pistol build with jig kit? Have you received it? Are you still waiting?

I am certain that they have an incredible amount of orders to fulfill. I am aware of the politics that they have been fighting, the lawsuits that they have to pay for, etc. No need to inform me about that please.

Thank you.

I built a couple during the height of covid. I never ordered directly from Polymer 80 and always went through one of their many resellers.
You might check around and see if any of their resellers have them in stock. If they do, get a refund from P80.

All that being said, you'll spend significantly less on a PSA Dagger than a P80.

I don’t think I could go through the resellers to get the whole kit and caboodle, so to speak, because of the limitations of their court win. But I’ll look around again.

I do know that I could save money with a stripped Dagger frame or P80 or other, but it’s not as fun that way, haha!

Thanks for writing.

At least you can build one.

Out here in the Peoples Republik the 80% lower pistol build kits were always verboten. But you could’ve built an AR from an 80% lower kit until those were banned in July of 2022. (Makes perfect sense, right?o_O)

To “get around” the prohibition on 80% kits I had to buy stripped Gen 3 Glock frames with factory serial numbers through an FFL, wait the ten days, then “build” my own Glock 19, 17 and 34 on those registered frames. Kinda lame compared to the whole ground-up 80% frame build, but it’s all I could do to stay within the laws.

Hopefully your kit comes in soon!

Stay safe.

What all is involved in the kit?

Do you have to buy a jig like the 80% AR lowers?

How much work is involved to finish the frame and slide?

I get that you want to do it yourself, I did read that you knew about the dagger and others. I posted it as the price is pretty good with everything it comes with.

Sorry I don’t have the time to get into what’s involved in building it, but there’s lots of good info out there online about the process.

For this particular purchase, the jig is included. Polymer80 website is one of the only (or perhaps the only) places where one can buy their 80% pistol design with the jig. It used to be much more available online and in local shops before current government rules changed this in 2022 (or 2021?).

Thanks anyway for the suggestion. That Dagger is certainly a great buy.

Colorado just signed SB-279 into law making "Ghost Guns" illegal.

So, no, I have not been waiting to get one.

I bought 3 kits when they were selling them for $100 with the jigs... March timeframe. I received my Grey subcompact frame in a respectable amount of time. I am still waiting on my grey compact and grey full sized frame kits. It would be great if they came pretty soon.

My subcompact frame is also going to become a 40 S&W (Glock 27) clone. With a stainless slide and stainless barrel. I will think of it as my double stack Kahr. At least one if not both of the others will be 9mm so I will have a pistol(s) that will use all of the OEM Glock 9mm mags I have for my PC Carbine.

Yes, it is going to cost considerably more than a real Glock to build them myself.

It helps to hear that I am not the only one waiting on their order.

That Dagger price is gr8t I'm guessing $15 bucks per magazine and $13 for the carry pouch. Puts it right at $220 for a Gen3 pistol with threaded barrel, not boring black AND a warranty? Hummmm
Suggesting it to a buddy who is lugging around a 1911 CCW haha.

Still, glad for you guys wanting to do your own whittling. Exacto-Knives-R-us hehe

I also ordered the gray compact in March; I think it’ll look really sharp. Thanks for writing to let me know that there are others waiting, too.
