I just idly ask because SCOTUS granted cert like 4 months ago for both those cases. Raich revolves around intrastate cultivation and consumption of marijuana and stewart revolves around homemade machine guns for personal use. The justices sounded like they were considering partly overturning Wickard v Fillburn during oral arguments for Raich.
Stewart will hear arguments after Raich is decided, probably sometime in April or May.
The fact that Stewart has been put off till after Raich leads me to beleive that the justices want to get a nice left wing (drugs!) federalism win to cover up the machine gun decriminalization shortly thereafter.
Kinda puts things into perspective, no?
