In posting in the Revolver section about a broken gun I mentioned that my wife had bought the same model of gun for me from Davidsons and they state they have a Lifetime Warranty covering the original buyer. If they can't find a replacement they will find a gun of equal value, your choice.

Here is a link to their Warranty http://www.galleryofguns.com/about/terms.aspx

Has anyone here on THR ever had occasion to use their warranty?

From what I understand Davidson's is a wholesaler.
So how does one know if your gun came from Davidson's?
I own quite a few guns and I don't think I've ever seen a clue which wholesaler they came through...I even live within 25 miles of a fairly large one, but the general public doesn't even know they exist for the most part.

About 7 years ago , I purchased a Para PDA that I quickly realized would "double".....(fire twice when I pulled the trigger once). Yikes!!
I immediately sent it back to Davidsons, hoping that they would simply replace it. Unfortunately , they didn't have anymore of that model. They sent it to a gunsmith ( didn't tell me who) and he fixed it. Didn't cost me anything and the gun worked fine.
I was satisfied.....Fwiw...mike

My local gun shop advertises a lifetime warranty for their new guns. I suspect their distributor is Davidson's. And what LGS WOULDN'T advertise that?

While Davidson's is a wholesaler/distributor, you can order guns off their site that it shipped to your LGS. Thus, you are in their system as the buyer of the gun if done that way vs buying from a LGS who happens to use Davidson's.

Davidson's.....

My good friend purchased a NIB Ruger .38spl +P 5 shot snub LCR with a Davidson's Lifetime Warranty in 2013. He rarely shoots it & uses it for home defense(Corbon DPX).
If I were looking at a new firearm model or a off-brand(lesser known) Id look for the models that include Davidson's Warranty offers. ;)

That extra benefit never hurts.

I believe this guarantee is for guns purchased via their "Gallery Of Guns" web site. Basically you buy it on line with your credit card and they ship to a participating dealer in your area.

I can always beat their prices at gun shows or elsewhere, but am interested in actual experiences with this guarantee, especially for guns from companies noted for poor customer service and support like Chiappa, Kahr, EAA, etc. The price premium could be worth it in these instances.

i've used it through a local gun store that gets all their guns from them. wasn't on a cheap gun though. actually, i used it twice. once it worked out ok. the other time though, they couldn't get my gun anymore and wound up giving me something similar. it's been years so i don't remember the details. one was a g22 (the walther 22LR i had given my nephew as a gift). i think the other was an FNP 45 but i don't remember

I looked into it a while back. There's plenty of posts on it working out. I saw a couple where the gun shop didn't want to deal with it, but Davidson's did what they said in the end.

You can usually beat their price, but I'd use to them to buy guns that don't have a manufacturer's warranty or are from a less-well respected company. Buying a shotgun from Stoeger or Taurus would be an instance where it might be worth it to pay extra. That's for me anyway.

I own an LGS and Davidson's is one of my suppliers.
All of their guns have a lifetime warrenty. if you buy it through an LGS then it has to go thru the same LGS for the warrenty. I have net 30 terms with them, and the 2 times I have had a customer that needed the warrenty, they cross shipped the old gun with a new one, so the customer had his new gun the day after he brought his broken gun to me. But that's just the way I do business. If you don't have a good local LGS that you like, then best to buy it direct from Davidsons gallery of guns web site yourself.

I never thought I would buy a Davidsons gun but now I have three. The wife bought me one and I have bought two others. They had good sales that brought the prices way below what I could get at Buds. I am glad to hear that they actually stand behind what they sell.

Davidsons is a good concept because several LGS's put their best prices for the item and you can choose which one it gets shipped to. I haven't found the LGS's here to have good inventories or prices and I usually buy from Palmetto, Buds or Armslist. But when a firearm that is on my short list goes on sale for 40% off it usually gets my attention.

Thanks for the replies because it definitly answers some questions I had about the warranty.

I had never heard of them until recently. Then I bought a used gun that had “Davidsons” stamped on the frame under the cylinder and google led me to the Gallery of Guns. I have no idea if they do that as policy now days. I don’t remember which gun it was, but all my S&W’s are at least 33 years old.

So I have to wonder if you but off of the Gallery of Guns website, does the delivering shop charge a transfer fee or do they just deliver the gun and get a commission (or?) from Davidsons? I can’t imagine the FFL doing it with no return for their time and trouble.

All of the LGS fees are listed on the GofG offer.

Not yet, (and hope I never do) but I'm getting ready to buy a second firearm through them. Just remember what the post above mine says about any modifications.
And I'm not buying through them because of any life time warranty, ( I'm not buying junk to begin with) I just got a real good feeling about dealing with them and plus they have my 'trading post/gun range' listed as my preferred FFL transfer. Even though it's a drive, but their price can't be beat not even by Buds.

Anyway you won't know until you try right.

I had a ruger montado from Davidsons and after about 2 years of using it for cowboy mounted shooting it went out of time and would index right some times I called them up and they said do you want it repaired or another gun.I didn't have time to wait for repair so they sent me a new one .

Hello All!

I am hoping that I will be able to shed some light on a few things in case anyone is still curious.

Davidson's is indeed a wholesaler and we also have a consumer website at www.galleryofguns.com.

1. So how to know if your firearm came from Davidson's...all Davidson's firearms are supposed to come with a Davidson's GuaranteeD Lifetime Replacement Warranty card inside the box, all of our dealers agree to honor this warranty (most are very happy to have it and advertise it to their customers) and if for some reason they are not helpful in handling the warranty please give us a call at 1-800-537-2565 and let us know! Dealers can also print the warranty card if for some reason it is not in the box. If you are at all nervous about your gun being a "fake" Davidson's firearm or are unsure call us at 1-800-537-2565 and we can verify if the gun is from Davidson's. (If this is happening it is important that we know so that we can take proper action).

ALL firearms sold through Davidson's (and Gallery of Guns) are covered by this warranty (the original purchaser must register the firearm per instructions on the card) our dealers are also covered.

So whether you buy from your LGS who is a Davidson's dealer or from Gallery of Guns, you are covered.

2. @Taliv I am sorry that we didn't have your item in stock at that time, I hope that you are happy with your alternative (we also have the ability to get firearms repaired if they are out of stock, though this takes a bit longer). Regardless, I hope that you are happy with the service we provided you.

3. @UpTheHill Thanks for being a Davidson's dealer I am happy that you were able to help out those customers using our warranty!

4. @Twiiki357 That is really neat that you have an older firearm with that stamp, we actually do not stamp the products we sell but I can tell you what you might have going on. Davidson's has a long history opening an ancestor business in Greensboro, NC in 1906 and officially becoming Davidson's in 1932. Early in the company's history we did actually used to manufacture (in the 60s-70s) you can find some more info on these guns by Googling "Davidson firearms company Greensboro NC." So cool to hear you have one of these. There is also a Davidson's Firearms in NV without understand exactly what you have, it is possible the firearm could be related to them (I don't think this is the case as their company appears to be a newer firearms retailer).

As for how Gallery of Guns works for our dealers is the same that it would work if they purchased the firearm wholesale. They are giving us the amount we charge wholesale and get whatever "markup" or "margin" they assigned to their Gallery of Guns retail account and the fees for handling and background checks. They determine the price and disclose ALL their fees upfront which is shown on the price you see after you get a quote for a firearm on the site. We get from the dealer what they pay for the wholesale price.

I hope that I answered any loose ends in here and if I have not feel free to reach out to us at anytime!

Thanks,

Jessica Tucker
