I am thinking of putting a Clark reverse drop-in recoil spring plug w/o hole for Officers Model on my officers model. Does anyone know how one of these will change the way the pistol is disassembled/assembled? Thanks
It will. You'll have to disassemble it the way you do a Hi-Power or a S&W 3rd Generation auto. In other words, you won't be able to relieve the tension on the recoil spring for disassebly prior to removing the slide from the gun. You'll also have to assemble it with the recoil spring under tension. Not that big a deal and after a few fumbles, you should be able to do it ok. Most of these units *may* require removing a small amount of metal from the slide as the reverse plug relies on a shelf rather than the slot already milled in the slide. I have one of these units in my own Officer's ACP and it has worked well. I haven't needed to remove any metal from the slide (if you need to, it's a small amount of metal that you can take off with a file).

The last time I checked you can't remove an Officers ACP spring plug from the front anway. The only thing holding it in place is a tiny little tab that fits into a mortice in the slide's dust cover. The aftermarket reverse plugs for the OACP simply give you more metal to keep the plug in place.

Sure you can. You're supposed to use a screwdriver to rotate the tab out of the notch, then slide the barrel bushing to one side which releases the plug from the front. You can then proceed with removing the barrel bushing, slide release, and slide in the usual manner ala Government model. It can be done the other way, of course.
I've used the Clark plug in several officers. If you switch to single recoil spring it can be a challange to get the new spring in the gun. Wear glasses.
