Anyone familiar with Secure-It pistol safes?

A friend of mine mentioned this low-cost pistol safe to me. It's very basic, but at $34 plus shipping, it seems like it might fit a very narrow security niche.

If anyone knows anything about the quality of these pistol safes, or anything else about them, I'd appreciate a reply.

I don't think that they're really intended to serve as a home storage container. They're too light and portable. However they would be a lot better than a trigger lock as far as keeping a firearm away from kids.

I think the intended use is more for temporary short-term storage in places such as a vehicle. They come with a short cable that can be looped around an object, such as the frame on a car seat, and is secured to the box while the lid is closed. I've been giving some thought to picking up one for my car. It sure beats leaving a gun (even temporarily) in the glove box. Especially for someone like me who hasn't owned a vehicle with a trunk since 1998.
