with 1 in 10" twist with good results? Or for that matter .257 Robts with 1 in 10"?

What recipe?

Do you hunt with it or no?

I'm getting poor accuracy with 100-120s.

I don't own one but find it hard to believe that it will not group 100gr with a 1in10. I've never heard of a 25-06 not grouping the heavier bullets. You must have tried different brands and loads. Do you have a lot of rounds through the barrel? Maybe you'll like some lighter bullets, who knows?

Yeah, I cannot tell yet if my rifle is a lemon or doesn't like heavies or what. But it sucks with 117 Speer HotCor, and at least one 120 gr & one 100 gr factory load. Can't seem to get any better than 2.0-2.25 MOA, and usually 3-4 MOA.

What model gun I have the exact same problem Ruger #1 not quite as bad as yours shoots 87 grain great. 100 grain and up 1 1/2 in. plus. tried 4 different bullets different powder and charges

My 25-06 Rem Sendero does well with different weight bullets. Probably the most accurate load is Remington factory loaded 120 gr. It'll put 3 shots nearly touching. My favorite handload is the Hornady 87gr SP. I use it for varmints and general plinking and it does about 1/2" groups. I shoot IMR 4831powder at 54.9 grains with RP cases and primers with the 87sp. I tried a little experimenting with overall length and with the 87 and 100 SP's my rifle seems to prefer bullets at 30-35 thousandths off the lands. Closer and groups open a little and farther they do the same. My rifle preferred 100 grain loads that were mid-speed and groups opened slightly when getting faster and near max loads. Check your stock to make sure it's not putting pressure on the barrel at one spot. I have a good shooting wood stocked rifle that groups opened up and I found the stock had warped and was touching the barrel on the right side half way up the barrel. Scraped the wood to get it off the barrel and groups returned to as before.

I have the 257 IMP and the 250 Sav IMP and a std Roberts all w/ 1-10 twist and they shoot 100-120's ...1/2" or better. Ballistic Tip's generally do well. If your rifle is a bolt action I would think it should do better than your results indicate, maybe a mechanical problem in the rifle, stock or optics.

This is a factory Howa, which is supposed to be a good shooting rifle. I have the action and chamber acra-glass bedded. Yes, there may be something wrong with the bedding job perhaps or something else.

Thanks, that's encouraging - may try that....
