Anyone have a gun related tattoo?

I actually have the Ruger phoenix on my right shoulder and some flames. Not because I'm a big fan of Rugers, but it was my first gun, given to me by my dad.

I did see, awhile back, a young lady with crossed single actions across her lower back. Ahem, made for an interesting observation, but haven't really considered it for my old wrinkly self.

Thernlund, M14's, now THATS a tat worth having!! Looks good with the Liberty or Death.....Personally I think the whole molon labe bit is played out, and would of made a great American tat look cheesy

I've seen the words "Molon Labe" referred to here several times. What is that? I've never heard of it. Maybeso age related?

It means "Come and take them" or perhaps "Over my dead body/from my cold dead hands."

It was the response King Leonidas gave Xerxes after Xerxes told Leonidas he'd spare his life if he surrendered Sparta to the Persians.

Thernlund: Very nice. I'm not normally a fan of tats, but I can see myself getting something like that. Maybe with "Molon Labe" instead of Liberty or Death.

Thank you both very much. A great deal of consideration and debate went into that design. The original design I drew was two M16s in the same configuration with Molon Labe under it in the same lettering as is on the statue at Thermopylae.

After much discussion, the M16s were changed to M14s for a more classic look. Then the phrase discussion began. Exactly what you said GarandOwner is exactly how it played out. Great American tat. And it was felt, like you said, that the Molon Labe thing was kind of exhausted. I've always been a Patrick Henry fan, so Liberty or Death was a very easy choice.

Then the font was just a matter of standard Constitutional-looking font vs. typical tattoo "Death" font.

I appreciate the compliments.

Thanks Harbingerm. You're REAL helpful. I thought I might get a decent answer to a simple question. I guess that was expecting too much.

I have one on my shoulder. It has molon labe in greek in large letters. below the letters is a very nice A2 m16 with nice detail. and below that is my distinguised riflemans number. a few folks here have seen it.
I got the tat last fall and being my 1st tatoo in 53 years I decided to get one.

Well it had double meaning for me as I wanted to get something done for my DM but several folks I know have the medal already in a tatoo. So by doing the rifle with just a number under it has meaning for folks that know what the number means with the type of rifle I earned it with. and the molon labe over the rifle for come and take it.

I'm swiss so I'm planning on getting my family crest on top of either two crossed K31's or two crossed Halberds. Not sure yet.
