Golden Hound
I think the first time I saw a photo of the SIG-AMT, it was 1973, featured on the cover of Military Small Arms of the Twentieth Century by Ian Hogg and John Weeks. Later that same year, I found it listed in the catalog section in the back of Gun Digest. While Colt AR-15 Sporters could be had for $234.95, and a CETME Sport Auto Rifle was going for $229.95, the SIG-AMT would have set you back $348.50, that is if you could have found someone who carried them. It didn't really matter though to a kid still in grade school; at the time I couldn't even afford a used BB gun. Since then, in all my travels and with all the gun shows I've been to, I've only seen one for sale, and that was some 16 or 17 years ago. The fellow who had it was asking something in the four figure range, and even though I made some decent money back then, it was way out of my price budget. Oh well, at least it doesn't cost you anything to dream.
