My experience has been that the .22 mag shoots marginally better than the .22 lr ... but the latter shoots well enough.
Remember that .22 lr ammo is lubed; .22 mag is not. In my experience, .22 lr doesn't typically lead a barrel, but the .22 mag can leave copper fouling. I don't typically clean the barrels of my .22 lrs except to run a bore snake through them occasionally. Not so the Single Six. It gets a good cleaning after every outing because of the unlubed .22 mags.
I never noticed a big difference in accuracy with my single six, but I do remember there was a big difference with my 10" High Standard when I changed cylinders.
I have a single six hunter convertible. I love it, now.
At first, I couldn't seem to shoot it very well. My hands are a little big for the gun, so I found that I wasn't really getting the best grip. I started experimenting with different ways of holding it. I found something that works for me and now it is very accurate regardless of what I shoot in it.
