Anyone have some good 2008 hunting stories?

just remembered another...my first time hunting turkey during spring of 2008; I was stationed against a tree intermittently calling & listening; during one of my 'quiet' times I saw 2 deer climbing the road (at the top of the property that we hunt) and trotting thru without a care in the world; very neat to see them just pop out of nowhere from behind cover when everything is growing :)

a bit later that morning I had a squirrel foraging and stopped dead @ 10 feet in front of me (my leafy camo suit has a veil that covers my face) he just looked at me for nearly a minute before he just scampered off without muttering a sound; best I could fathom is that I looked like a big leafy bush that didn't belong there, but since I didn't make any movements he didn't get alarmed

Deer Hunter, is this you?

Also, on the wildlife jumpin on you thing....I've had squirrels jump on me then onto the tree. I've had tweety birds land on my gun, on my shoulder, and on my knee. Some tweety birds are really curious about ground blinds and the contents therein - guess it looks like a good place to build a nest. Being still you see cool stuff.

I took a doe this season while freezing my tail off. Ended up building a small fire to warm myself and she popped out and I made meat. I also got to take a friend who has never gotten a deer before and 'guided' him on a hunt. He took a small button buck. It was great helping him out and letting him get his first deer.
