Just picked up a Glock 30 and so far like the gun. Not my favorite, but sometimes being utilitarian is a good thing. Anyway, I'm looking to add a laser and it looks like the only feasible option is Crimson Trace's LG 629.

I know CT gets great reviews and I have no doubt as to the quality of their products, but I felt this laser on a G30 the other day and could not get over how bulky it is. The 29/30 is pretty clunky to start with, but I've started to get used to it. Not sure if I'd call it "comfortable," but it is at least tolerable. I'm worried that the CT 629, which resembles a large growth on the back of the frame, might be way too much for a thick, blocky framed Glock .45. Also, I don't like having the pressure switch on the back of the frame. I don't get nearly as reliable activation as with front-of-frame style lasers.

I would really prefer a laserguard like the ones made for...oh, say, every single other compact Glock model. CT doesn't make it though, and I really want a laser. I've almost convinced myself that I could get used to the unit (I got used to the frame eventually).

For those of you that have the 629, how do you like it? What were your initial impressions, and how have they changed? Any problems with activation?

I don't want a guide-rod laser, rear-sight laser, bulky rail-mounted laser, or anything that doesn't have pressure-switch activation. Thanks for the input.
