Was at the range the other day and was happily running through all my drills for practice, when I noticed that I was shooting tighter groups when I shot one handed.:scrutiny:
This was not an isolated gun occurance, either. Revolver, semi-auto, it did not make a difference. I noticably shot better one handed, irregardless of the distance to the target.

Anyone else have this happen? My brother told me it was because I was concentrating more using one hand. I don't mind, really, just wondering if it was me or if there were other "duelists" out there who did better using one mano.

I cant keep the gun steady with one hand. i need both hands to keep it straight as i pull the trigger.

Do you always shoot better with one hand than two? If so, I don't see how anybody could ever shoot better one handed unless something is wrong with their two handed grip. I suspect that you must have something wrong with your two handed grip/stance rather than the fact that you might be concentrating more when shooting one handed.

I shoot in a bullseye pistol league, where everything is one-handed. So that is what I'm most practiced with. Also I shoot single-action, where the trigger pull is very light. (This is probably why I'm such a lousy shot with my BHP even though it fits my hand so well; it has a hard trigger pull. I should see it maybe I shoot it better two-handed.) Come to think of it, I'm not that good of a shot with a revolver when shooting DA; I should try that again two-handed.

Could be you are slightly far-sighted and can see the front sight more clearly with it further away one-handed.

Pull the gun in closer two-handed and it is not as clear?
