Anyone know a good competitor who doesn't reload

We've got several in IDPA up here, most of the 9mm shooters seem to shoot cheap ammo.. I know when my wife gets her Kahr, I doubt I'll be loading much for it..who wants to chase brass around?

If it's not just a rhetorical question, look up the last few issues of Front Sight, the IPSC journal. They published a list of the firearms and reloaders or ammo used by competitors recently. I can't remember if it was the U.S. championships or the worlds in Africa. Since reloading is illegal in some countries I'm sure there must be some who don't reload.

There are a few guys who are sponsored and use factory ammo in thier guns but I bet they also reload. Most shooters want the ability to customize their ammo by using different bullet weights or powder with different burning rates. Also most of the guys shooting limited 40's are loading their ammo longer than factory stuff and you can't buy ammo that way.
Just face it, you are going to have to become a reloader to feed that nice new shooter you got.

I don't know of any serious competitors in the centerfire rifle sports that don't reload.
Here's an example of a Highpower Rifle Shooter...
We have a shooter that's relatively new to Highpower. She's a Marine and is shooting for the second time in the USMC's Pacific Division Matches with rack M16A2's and Ball M855 Ammo.
We ran the Service Rifle Championship and Leg Match this weekend to coincide with the PacDiv's and shot Slowfire Prone at 500 yards to encourage the PacDiv Marines to come out and shoot with us.
Well, this Marine bought an Armalite CMP Service Rifle and decided to shoot that instead of the Rack '16 for our Civilian Match. Only thing was she doesn't reload. In spite of our previous offers to help her get started or even reload for her, she chased around town for Ammo and ended up buying 55gr and 69gr Factory Ammo. IIRC, she said something like;
"those 69's should be good for 500 yards right?"
I didn't have the heart to break the bad news to her. A couple of us "veterans" schemed to try to figure out how we could get her 80gr rounds for both Saturday and Sunday (both because Sunday was Leg day - no sighters). Unable to come up with short order 80's, we decided to encourage her and hope for the best.
Well...she did decent in Standing...Pretty good in Sitting 198-??...mediocre at 300 (2nd string had some off call shots).
At the 500 yard line, I offered to give her some of my 69's (since she was having doubts about the off call shots - turned out she shot the 55's)...then I "encouraged her" by suggesting that if she watched the wind carefully, she could do well at 500 yds with the 69 Federals.
I was shooting on the same relay as she was. The wind was unusual in that it was much lighter than the usual 4 to 6 minute left wind. It was also coming in from 12 o'clock and fishtailing. Getting down to business, I was able to stay ahead of the wind, and lost points for not being able to hold elevation. The 500 yd bull was just too blurry....and I missed a switch that costed me a point. I came off the line with a 193-6 - decent, but not great.
I heard folks muttering about the 8's they lost to the same switches that caught me.
When I went over to check on my Marine friend, I couldn't believe my ears when she told me 197-11x! I told her to "forget everything that I just told you before this string." When she showed me her data book, I saw that she had used just the top half of the 10/X ring and lost 2 to wind and 1 to elevation. She ended up a few points behind me with a 764??
Just to show that it wasn't a fluke, she went out the next day with the same 55 gr and 69 gr factory ammo and shot a 481 to win the Leg Match. I believe she shot a 196 at the 500 yard line with those Federal 69's.
I'll be giving up Highpower Rifle shortly...watch out for the BlingBling Sale.

I have a friend that used to be competitive in long range rifle. He reloaded in his competitive days. Now he only shoots smaller local matches for fun. He claims he can buy rounds as good as he could load. (I forget which ones)

Chris, I have no doubt that what you say is true, but I have a feeling that that lady's average is going to go down the more rounds she fires...unless she gets better ammo!

I neglected to mention that "that Marine" which seems to have become "that lady" is none other than GySgt Tamara Fode, 2002's National Woman's Service Rifle Champion. Here's a few of her other accomplishments in her first season. President's 100 (27th, 292-8x - High Woman), High Woman NTI (15th overall, 491-14x)
While I don't think it truly answers Jeepers question. I believe that Tamara as well as many others on the Military Teams don't reload (but do shoot handloads loaded by their ammo techs) In that vein, there is another VERY hard Service Rifle shooter I know that doesn't reload - she has her dad do it.

Until very recently, the USAMU shot Federal 69's at 200 and 300 yards and won many a National Championship. While they are hard to come by, there are a couple of factory loaded 80's for the 223 Rem. And now that I think about it, the USMC was shooting Black Hills Factory Loads across the course until they developed ammo problems.
It wasn't until fairly recently that Handloaded ammo became the norm. Through the 80's, many championships were won and records were set with Lake City loaded M852 ammo.

But I likes the chickies. Somebody told me that if I shot HP I'd get all the chickies. So far, I ain't seein' it, and the haggard old women that flock to you tell me that there's no future in it.
