I have a 12FV in .223 that I really like but due to a strange and disheartening accident the barrel is all but ruined. Short story, a piece of debris lodged ahead of a chambered round, and gouged the chamber/throat in a critical area. It can be reworked, but on a gun costing so little, it's hardly worth it. It looks way cheaper to rebarrel it, given the ease of removal with the Savage barrel nut.

I know that the Savage is really easy to rebarrel, but what I don't know is whether the 110 series barrels (which are easy to find and cheap) will fit the short action 12. If they do, Midway has a whole slew of replacement barrels and that would rock if I could go that route.

Anyone know or have experience with the Savage action concerning swapping barrels?
