I keep finding beautiful glossed rosewood and related grips that all cost upwards of $50.00, often seventy. Is this just high quality stuff or grossly overpriced? Anyone know of sites that sell cheaper wooden and synthetic grips for Ruger's GP-100?

That's just the price!

Wood, laminated wood, and ivory polymer grips are in the $45 range and up. Hogue and Pachmayr rubber grips can be had for less than $20.

Economy-priced after-market grips for the GP100 are scarce, unless you can find some used ones on one of the auction sites.

I was thinking of fifty as almost reasonable, but most I'm finding are at $70-80. That seems a little high.

Try this one

or more specifically

http://www.handgungrips.com/model.cfm?mfg=Ruger&category=handgun grip

item #s RU00180, RU00181, and RU00182

Same grip style (it will look like the grip at the top of the page) but different colors. These are laminated wood and they have no varnish or anything on them. They polish them to this high sheen. These are good quality grips - I bought a couple of sets several years ago. This company used to make some of the grips that the gun companies put on their guns. My experience with these people has always been very positive.

To see what the different colors look like, find a grip that has the word "view" next to the price and click on it. You won't see the GP100 grip, but you can see what the woods look like. (The wood in the grip pictured at the top of the page is the "walnut".

Good luck!:D
