Anyone Load 12ga Double Ball .60 cal in 2 3/4 Hull

Alliant has Blue Dot data for a 1-1/2 oz shot load (notng that [email protected] caliber balls together are ~600gr or 1.4oz)
The problem is that you'd need a wad/shotcup where the cup is 1.2" in depth to get any sense of even starting
load data.

Im thinking being .60 and in a wad fired from a
Full bore non chocked barrel I won't need pure lead " don't want to waste it" I can use some harder lead 10 to 15 bhn

I strongly urge the OP not to use anything but pure lead when playing w/ large-caliber slugs/balls in a shotgun barrel.
Even using just cylinder bore.

Added, I suggest the OP be real careful on researching/choosing eventual component combinations -- as flying somewhat blind is at work here.
I also recommend a chronograph, and checking that he does not exceed published 1-1/2 oz ballistics whatever he finally puts together.

I do,
But, not a .60, but a single .690” ball cast from a Lee mold.
I use a 1oz shot cup, and a powder charge for a 1-1/8oz load using GreenDot. Only because I was gifted several pounds about 5yrs ago.
I use instant grits for a filler under the ball to raise it to even with the top of the wad fingers in a Winchester Compression hull. Crimp for good crimp… They aren’t “hot”, but do reliably cycle my M1187 with a cantilever scope base 21”bbl and a rifled choke tube. Velocity is around 1,300fps. Accuracy about 3” at 25yds.
Better is the Lee 7/8oz Key Drive slug. I put two 5/8” card wads under it with the same powder charge. It’s 4-5” at 50yds.
I don’t hunt with them, just range practice and plinking empty milk jugs…

That sounds a lot like the bolo load without the connecting wires. You may benifit from load data where people recreate these loads.... sounds like a fun project, stay safe 😆

I fiddled a bit with a 20 ga. lead ball in a 12 ga. shot cup, looking for a homebrew slug load for my rifled barrel W1300. Nothing seemed to work; accuracy was miserable. Picking up the wads downrange, I always found that one petal of the shot cup was badly deformed and bent back at an extreme angle. I surmised the ball was starting out off-center, crushed one petal and then wobbled non-concentrically downbore.

Were you, by chance, using any sort of filler in the wad...?
I recently started to load shotshells, it is a really interesting and fun endeavor..... 😁

Fortunecookie45lc seemed to have really good luck with the Russian slug and proprietary wad. He made a video recently that those components are no longer available. Politics screws up our fun...

I read where a guy loading undersized lead balls wrapped them in wadding, or with some sort of patch material.
