The Commando arms gun in 9mm was called the Mark 9.
The Commando Arms (Volunteer Enterprises, Knoxville TN)
product line included:
Mark I tommy-gun look-alike stock for M1 carbine
Mark II tommy-gun look-alike stock for M1 carbine without buttstock
Mark III .45 tommy-gun sorta-replica, M3 grease gun magazine
Mark IV tommy-gun look-alike stock for M1 carbine with detachable buttstock
Mark V .45 tommy-gun sorta-replica, Thompson gun magazine
Mark 45 .45 tommy-gun sorta-replica
Mark 9 9mm tommy-gun sorta-replica
If you have ever seen a Commando "tommy gun" you will know why
I call it a "sorta-replica."
I have only seen a Mark 9 in the Washington County TN Sheriff's
department display of confiscated weapons.
Commando Arms is no longer in business although their guns
show up used with dealers and at gun shows.
Thompson (Auto-Ordnance and BSA) did make limited numbers in
9mm and .38 Super, and the Model 1923 in .45 Remington-Thompson
(250gr at 1450 fps, almost ~ .45 Winchester Magnum!) But 9mm
Thompsons were not a commercial item.
Which means there is room in the replica market for 9mm and
.45Win Mag Thompsons.
