anyone notice the Mossberg lever action .30-30 announcement?

I did download the catalog from Mossberg's website...took a while almost 50MB.

Looks very interesting. I already have a Marlin Mdl 30A in .30-30, so I probably won't buy one of these. If it is as solid a design as their ATR-100 and 4x4 series of rifles at a comparable budget-aware price point, Mossberg will have another winner.

I do have an ATR-100 in .30-06....decent rifle at a very budget-aware price.

HAH! Told ya so! It appears even more Winchester 94-ish than I would have guessed! I wonder if they bought some, ahem, "unused" tooling somewhere?

Didn't know about the .22 version though, edited to add that the .22 looks a little "off" in the pictures, something wrong with the proportions. Hopefully it is just that particular picture.

Looks pretty nice, though I'm not really a fan of top-tang safeties (or any other safeties, for that matter) on leverguns. If its affordable and is of decent quality, like most of Mossberg's products, I'll probably get one.

Does anyone know when these rifles are supposed to hit store shelves?

I, for one, will personally love a new USA levergun.

If Mossberg does this right, they have started a grand new tradition, if they can push a little Marketing behind the great idea.

In the past, Mossberg has introduced innovative new ideas, but has offered no support behind those great ideas for the retailers.

Way to go Mossberg. This is a phenomenal idea.

I am in the marketing business, and I am only offering support here. PLEASE MOSSBERG -- SPEND JUST A LITTLE MONEY ON PR. You have left a lot of great products hangin' ...

(You will be better with a local PR company, but please PM me if you want help from a Mossberg fan.)

I have one of the older Mossbergs in 30-30. One of those guns I'll never get rid of if I have anything to say about it.
