anyone offer this? Bullet "sampler/assortment" sets for pistol bullets

I seem to remember seeing something like this several years ago offered by someone like midway, but it was for rifle bullets.

What i remember was an "Item" from a mail-order/internet store where you chose a bullet diameter and a weight (or weight range) and were sent a box containing an assortment of designs and/or weights of the same design, about 10-20 of each variation. the idea being that for less or the same money you'd pay for standard 50-100rd box of a single weight or design you could have a small sample (15-20) of several to try out.

I've been wordering if anyone does/did this for pistol bullets?? I'd like to try something other than RN FMJ in loads for my 1911, but i don't want to buy 100 of a bullet that could wind up being useless to me.

any ideas on where to find something like that? or even IF it exists?

Midway still offers 12 packs last time I checked, couple weeks ago.. Don't remember the brand though so you'll have to search for the packs.

first off much thanks for the suggestions guys, and I've saved the Precision Delta and Bulletsamples sites for possible later use.
But based on the look I just took around all four sites. The answer to my question from the OP looks to be a firm NO so far.

Precision Delta comes closest but the smallest amount of component bullets from them is still 100. And even then, (since due to bad experience i've sworn off unjacketed lead), they only have two available profiles/types. But at $18/100 I might try their JHP out.

Trop is offering loaded ammo, I'm only after projectiles.

I can not find any quatities smaller than 100 of any (suitable) .45cal bullets on midway

Bulletsamples.com only has rifle bullets.

Just my $0.02 on this, but I'm a fan of Precision Delta bullets. I've shot a few thousand of them in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP each, and think they are a quality product. I've only shot the FMJ RN bullets, and I've been very happy with their precision and ease of reloading. Try the 100 round sampler pack, then take the plunge and order 2k. Their prices are some of the best I've found online as well.

You have to call the toll-free number and request the sample pak. Comes in a nice plastic compartmented box.

This is OT but I would really like to see sample packs of powder.

I hate buying a pound of powder based on some recommendation, have it not work like I want it to and be stuck with 98% of a pound of useless (to me) powder.

trust me you're not alone. I think though that < 1 lb powder portions would/will be MUCH less likely to be seen comercially, for simple insurance/liability as well as and most assuredly shipping cost reasons (haz-mat fee is the same for a few Ozs of powder as 1lb-24lbs)

last time i worked up loads from absolute nothing, myself and 3 other shooters/handloaders (we each bought .308s within months of each other) each bought a pound of one the 4 most popular .308 appropriate powders on the market and passed them around between us to see what our rifles liked. 3 of the 4 of us found that IMR4895 and Varget ran neck and neck for us...
