6'-0", 245#, 67 yrs., some gut.

SmartCarry with Kel-Tec P-3AT and two spare mags. After about two weeks of 24/7 carry I forget it's there. Nobody has ever "made" me, not even my wife. Very happy with it.

With a larger gun I don't know - maybe could be a bit noticeable.

I don't like mine, I'm a big guy and a bit of a belly and using the smart carry is not comfortable for me using a larger weapon than the Kel-Tec P-3AT as Bobo does. What are you going to carry in the Smart Carry?

I will sometimes use a SmartCarry with a Colt Compact 1911. It is comfortable as long as I'm not seated in my vehicle. Sitting in a car requires some "readjustment" to keep the gun from poking.

The one thing I would advise is to order one size too large and then trim the strap yourself.

I'm 205, 5'11", wear a SmartCarry every day. (I get to dress casual 99% of the time.) 4" barrels without hammers (or dropped ones) work best; my XD-45 and CZ 75 compact work great. When I had a Glock 17, it was fine, as well. A C&L Commander digs into my gut a bit when I sit. A full size .45, forget it. Too short waisted.

I find a cheap (Gunmate, uncle Mike's etc.) inside the waistband clip on works better for me. Clip it underneath the belt to either side of the zipper and let the belt and buckle cover the clip.

Shorter barrels work better if you need to be sitting a lot. P3AT really disapears this way, Kahr PM40 is my favorite for this carry.

I only use the smart carry rig for shorts or pants that don't use a belt.

I've had the Thunderwear holster (Smartcarry's predecessor) for many years and have a few opinions on it's strengths & weaknesses:

Pros:
-It does what it advertises in terms of concealability. *see caveat below*
-You can be flexible in how you use it. I've worn it it in the front crotchal
area, strong-side, sob, and crossdraw, depending on my needs.
-It's a generic size, so you can use with multiple pistols as long as they're of similar size profile. (I wouldn't put a P3AT in a Smartcarry designed for a 1911.)
-Easy on/off.

Cons:
-*Concealability is relative. You'll have a harder time with a 4" revolver than a flat auto. Shorter barrel is better.
-If worn in the front below the belt line, you will have a muzzle in your leg every time you sit down. There's a lot of shifting and repositioning that takes place. Ymmv depending on muzzle length and your particular build.
-Drawing your weapon requires two hands and can be awkward. Driving with your seatbelt on makes accessing your weapon very difficult.

Good luck with your decision.

FWIW, I always unholster my gun when I get in the car, and put it on the seat beside me; much faster to get to. When I'm getting out of the car, I just lean back a bit and reholster. Remember, I said I get to dress casual a lot; no belt, pants/shorts with elastic type waistbands... "stretchers," as my lovely wife likes to refer to them.

Never had that problem... but I stick to a 4" or shorter auto.

Ditto that...

5' 11" and 200 pounds. I thought I would use the Smart Carry a lot more than I do when I bought it, but it does have some applications that it really is well suited for.

When my wife and I take walks around the neighborhood in the evening I like to wear sweat shorts (sweat pants she cuts down and makes into shorts for me). I can use the Smart Carry under the sweat shorts and you would never know I'm carrying. I usually carry a XD sub compact, Ruger SP101 or a lightweight Taurus 38. Plenty of room for speed strips or extra mags too.

5'7" 260, Crossbreed IWB adjustable cant is the most comfy. I carry a 1911 Sc commander with a bobtail with an over sized shirt. It doesn't do much for making me look slim, but it doesn't print. :D

It doesn't really move around any. It might shift up a bit, but I just give it a subtle little tug back down if I need to. If I'm wearing shorts, I just pull the leg to the side to use the bathroom. If I'm wearing pants, or have to ... uh... do #2, I just pull it all down.

I just can't make myself carry a gun pointed down there

Actually, it points past the ... uh... "human barrel"... It's safe...

Once you put the Smart Carry on does it move around any? Also how do you pee, do you have to take the Smart Carry off?
I doesn't move around at all.
While reaching through the fly, I lift it up a bit and hold it to the left with my left hand.
For commode sitting I slide it up around my chest.

I'm a fat guy and have found the best way for me to carry is in a leather pancake OWB and cover it up with a baggy shirt. (after all, we're expected to wear baggy clothes...) Or with an open canvas button down I got from cabelas. I have also carried in a IWB similarly if wearing a shorter shirt. Less comfortable but more concealable...

I find that my style of dress has changed to fit my style of carry. And I've never figured out how You can get to those deep concealment guns fast enough to help you out of a jam...
