I used to own one. I thought the recoil was excessive. Other than that, it's not a bad pistol. I currently own it's cousin, the PT911. Looks just like it, but it's 9mm instead of .40S&W, and it holds 15+1 rounds.

Hello Big Gal Al,

From one PinkPistol to another.

Did you like the fit and feel of the firearm? Did it feel like a quality piece and did it shoot reliably and accurately?

Bought a new 940 this spring it has one fault , it shoots a bit low , or maybe I just shoot low with it .

My sons love it also and we have put I suppose nearly 500 rounds of factory and reloads through it with zero malfunctions .

As far as recoil is concearned if you can handle a 45 acp in a Commander you can handle the recoil of the 40 in the PT 940 .

My 13 year old has no problems handling it with factory or hot reloads .

Hiya PlayboyPenguin,

I did like the feel of it, and maybe saying recoil was excessive was the wrong phrase. I felt it had to much muzzle flip. Other wise, it was accurate, and felt good in the hands. That's why I went with the PT911. I usually have no problems with .45ACP, but I do shoot a lot better (read more accurately) with a 9mm handgun than I do with a .45. I can hit the target with a .45, but my spread is a bit larger.

The nice thing, the holster I got for the PT940, works just as well with the 911, the dimensions are just about dead on the same.

Oh, and this is my PT911 :D

Yup. I got teased about it last year when I went to New Orleans to work security. I choose it as my main weapon as it's not overly heavy. They stopped laughing when we went to qualify for LA state armed security. ;)
