Does anyone reload for a Ruger LCP? I intend to buy an LCP and reload .380ACP for it. I will likely use Lee dies, Berry's plated bullets, Titegroup powder, CCI SP primers, and mixed headstamps. Has anyone used such a recipe or does anyone have any suggestions for LCP reloads? Thank you.

I do, I've only used to this point Magtech 95 gr rn, Unique 3.1gr, bullseye 2.6gr

I reload 380 ACP for several pistols. Kel Tec P3AT is as close as I get to the Ruger. Generally I load FMJ, plated or lead round nose using Unique or 700-X.

Check you local reloading manual(s) for charge weights. There are a bunch of powders that are suitable.

I load them with tightgroup and have had excellent results, with lead mo bullets and berry's...

I have found that handloading for the Ruger LCP 380 is much like handloading for the Kel-tec P3AT 380.

The Ruger is a tiny bit heavier and a tiny bit better case support, but not enough to change the loads.

I have concentrated on two loads for those pistols:
1) 90 gr Gold Dot and work up with Power Pistol to the threshold of guppy belly and backing off a slim safety margin. This yields 1100 fps average over the chrono.
2) 115 gr Win JHP and work up with Bullsye to the threshold of guppy belly and back off a slim safety margin.

The Bryco is heavier and has better case support and so can take a couple more grains of powder than the LCP or P3AT.

I found that the Beretta 1934 and 1907 Husqvarna have perfect case support and can take a couple more grains than the Bryco. The 1907 gets more even more power with 158 gr.

100 gr Berry's over 3.9gr Unique gave me slightly more recoil and a lower POI versus 90gr PMC Bronze out of an LCP.

I use Berrys RNHB at .980" OAL and Bullseye Powder with CCI primers. I have talked with some gentlemen at my range and more than one suggested the CCI primer in smaller cases.

I have used Titegroup with good results but I usually have Bullseye in the powder measure from 9mm so thats what gets used.

95gr LRN over 2.5gr bullseye to start someone off with or for practice. 2.8 to replicate factory loads. 3.1gr for SD ammo.

I cast and load for my LCP. If you cast take a look at Ranch Dog's 100 gr FN bullet that's designed for the .380.

If you don't cast they're available at Carolina Cast Bullets for $8.50/100.

I use Unique, a full charge is listed at 4.3 grains, but this little gun isn't any fun to shoot with such a stout load. I use 2.9 grains in all of my plinking rounds, and they're a lot easier to control. The Berry's plated bullet also weigh 100 grains so you could use the same data, just work up slowly if you want full power loads. When you get your LCP it would be a good idea to slug the barrel. Everyone just assumes that the .380 will have a .355" groove diameter, but mine measures .3573". I size all of my bullets to .358" to prevent leading the barrel. If I'm not mistaking, Carolina Cast sells the bullet sized to .356", but they will make them any diameter you need upon request.
