Gov. Foster is a pretty big supporter of gun rights as far as I know. His statements on women using the laws to their advantage, and he did this openly in the media, was a good sign to me of his gun owning beliefs. My ex-girlfriend lives in Baton Rouge and I, along with her father, have been trying to convince her of getting a gun and taking classes on shooting. The only thing we have been able to accomplish is getting her to carry pepper spray. But many women have been going out and taking self defense classes and others are arming themselves in response to this threat. I was glad to see on AMW that they showed women taking marksmanship classes. And from the looks of it they were fine shooters.
The area isn't gripped with fear, though, like has happened in some cities when such things have happened. But there is growing concern, especially when you see the details they have now about this killer. This person isn't following any patterns, and the evidence they have doesn't add up to much in reality. Hopefully last night's show will help with this, but as this has been confined in La, most here already know all that was shown last night. Trust me, not a week goes by without some mention of the serial killer around here on the news.
